A Hybrid Analytical Model for the Electromagnetic Analysis of Surface-Mounted Permanent-Magnet Machines Considering Stator Saturation

This article presents the process of building a hybrid analytical model (HAM) for surface-mounted permanent-magnet machines. The HAM couples reluctance network (RN) in stator region with magnetic scalar potential air gap and magnets regions. can deal slotting effect straight teeth, takes saturation into account iron material using RN model. It is calculated under open-circuit loaded conditions. flux density, linkage, back electromotive force (EMF), torque machines are also calculated. compared subdomain method. finite element method (FEM) both terms size matrix that needs to be error. We analyzed this two machines, one symmetry factor four another three. In cases, reduced needed solved FEM. machine three, when FEM was around 1700 × 1700, error 2.62% high-mesh-density simulation, while only 0.17% same simulation. had significant advantages over method, as it from 16.8% 0.08% case high saturation. can, hence, play role design optimization especially cases where present.
